Enders Island Sunrise

A heron bathing in the first light of the morning.

I am so lucky to live near the ocean. It comes with endless opportunities to capture birds and beautiful sunrises.

The image above was taken in the golden hour. Love that golden color!

Birds on a wire

This image was taken after i turned around to head back to my car. Two birds were on electric wires that were framing the moon. I have the moon out of focus so that the birds are mostly in focus.

Wires Framing Moon

Birds flew away :(

Having my settings pre programmed into my camera enabled me to take the pictures with the birds before they flew off.

Having these settings ready to go has been a life saver since i started incorporating birds into my landscape images.

Lighthouse

I spotted a lighthouse in the distance and used the rocks and buoy as foreground interest. They are both blurred so that the focus is on the subject - the lighthouse.

Lighthouse2

Same lighthouse, different point of view.

I extended my tripod legs to get the camera higher so as to get separation between the rocks and the lighthouse. Not sure which image i like better.

Looking Out

And lastly I got an image of myself looking out into the water.

I like the silhouette of myself against the warm light.

One of my favorite color combinations in images.

Kinda sums up my summer so far, really.
